USPS Carrier Knocks Down Mailbox, Customer Wants Answers

8/8/2018 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) – In the current week's 'You Ask, We Investigate' report, KNWA's Katelynn Zoellner talked with USPS authorities to discover why they have not supplanted a nearby family's post box after it was thumped somewhere near one of their drivers over a year back.

Greg Wilhelm and his family have inhabited their home in Fayetteville for over 10 years. They hadn't had any issues until August 1, 2017 when a USPS driver thumped down their letter drop.

Wilhelm said his surveillance cameras caught what occurred. The video demonstrates the USPS driver conveying mail. As the man heads out, he thumps down the letter drop. You at that point see the man escape the vehicle and lift it up. He gets once more into the vehicle and heads out.

"At first it was somewhat silly the manner in which the person approached doing it," he said. "It felt discourteous that the individual would simply come in, cause harm and after that leave without giving us some kind of cordiality, clarification or notice."

Wilhelm said he sent the video to USPS asking that his letter box be settled. This month checked one year since the episode occurred and the letter drop is as yet broken.
